University of Passau – Chair of Public Law, Media Law and Information Law

Since opening its doors to the public in 1978, the University of Passau has quickly developed into one of the finest addresses in German academia and provides widely well-reputed education by means of internationally-oriented degree programmes offered by its four faculties.

The Faculty of Law is acknowledged throughout Germany for its excellent law programs and courses and all the benefits of a manageable-sized university. With 21 Professors – eighteen chairs, three teaching professorships and five research institutes – assisted by academic staff of 101 heads, about 2400 law students are being taught in a very personal way and can specialise in one of five innovative and cross-disciplinary profile areas – International Law; IT, Media and Communication Law; Business and Tax Law; and Legal History and Jurisprudence.

The Chair of Prof. von Lewinski of the Faculty of Law of the University of Passau deals with Public Law, Media Law and Information Law. Its law clinic provides legal advice by senior students to companies and start-ups on issues of media law and information law.
