On February 25th, KU Leuven Law Incubator IusStart was awarded 2500€ by the Leuven.inc foundation for its contribution to competitive entrepreneurship. The foundation was particularly impressed by the project’s cross-pollination between law students and student entrepreneurs.

Within IusStart, law students, under the guidance of researchers and law firms, provide free legal advice to start-ups who would otherwise not be able to afford legal counselling. IusStart consists out of an extra- and intra- curricular path. The extra-curricular path has been set-up by PhD students and works on an entirely voluntary basis. ICRI/CIR organises the intra-curricular path, which focuses on ICT and IP law. The IusStart initiative forms the legal branch of the Leuven Community for Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship.
